FROM the Real Life Questions ebook:

Few absolute "rights" or "wrongs" in life

Dear Life Coach:

My husband is one of those people who has to be right all the time, and I am so tired of myself and everyone else having to be wrong to feed his ego. Before meeting him, I rarely gave much thought to whether I or someone else was "right" or "wrong," as it just wasn't important to me. Now I find myself trying to prove to him when I am right - which of course just makes it worse. Even when there is proof that he is blatantly wrong, he will categorically deny that he is mistaken. He sometimes even jumps sides and tries to pretend that he was there all along and I simply misunderstood. I can't believe how angry this makes me, even (or especially) when the subject is utterly trivial and unimportant! What can I do? I really want to resolve this before we have children, as I don't want our kids to get caught up in this behavior.
